Hello and thank you for visiting! My name is Viviana. I’m an executive assistant to a hospital president by day, recipe creator by night and now my weekends are spent whipping up delicious gourmet marshmallows and other goodies for you!
I have always enjoyed baking and collecting recipes and cookbooks and having grown up in my parents Chinese restaurant, food has been a huge part of my life since the beginning. As the years passed, I have thought of different food ideas that I could pursue but it wasn't until I had returned “home” to Louisville, Kentucky after six years working as a secretary at Disney Parks & Resorts in Orlando, Florida that I found something that would be both fun and challenging for me to do. In 2012, I went on a trip to London and Paris and I saw quite a few gourmet marshmallows and I remembered a recipe I had seen in 2009 for homemade marshmallows that had alcohol in them. It got the wheels turning and I even bought a marshmallow cookbook while I was in Paris. After that fateful trip, my mom and I were shopping at a local Kentucky centric store that also sells candy and I mentioned to my mother that they didn’t have any marshmallows. Then the light bulb went off and I whispered to my mom, “how about Bourbon marshmallows? I should make those!” That was it, I was hooked! I researched and researched and created and looked for a commercial kitchen but came up empty. In Kentucky, you’re not allowed to make and sell food from home. I gave up on the idea, then I would pick it back up hoping that I would find a kitchen. I kept my eye on a local incubator kitchen that was being built but it seemed out of my league to rent it monthly so I waited until finally, I told myself to just do it because I would regret not ever trying! So here I am! The kitchen is called Chef Space and it is located in west Louisville. I am so happy to see this dream come to life and can't wait to share it with you!
My vision is to add more confections and baked goods, most of which will contain Bourbon and other tasty alcohols. If there's a dessert you love and would like for me to make for you, let me know!
